What is the difference between a handrail and a guardrail?
A handrail is a graspable rail that guides people on stairs and ramps. A guardrail (guard) is a barrier that prevents falls from elevated surfaces. They are distinct building-code elements that are often combined into a single railing system. We fabricate both.
Do you fabricate railings to building code?
We fabricate to approved drawings, verified field dimensions, and the requirements identified for the individual project. Permits, inspections, and engineering stamps are the responsibility of the property owner or general contractor unless specifically included in the written scope.
What materials do you recommend for outdoor railings in Colorado?
For exterior applications, we recommend powder-coated mild steel, stainless steel, or aluminum for maximum corrosion resistance in Colorado’s freeze-thaw climate. Each material has different cost and maintenance trade-offs we can discuss during your consultation.
Can you match my existing railing style?
Yes. We can replicate or complement existing railing designs, or create a completely custom style to match your architecture. Bring photos or dimensions and we will work from there.
